Dear Friends,

In the past year, creating these cartoons and posting them here has been a sheer delight for me. Recreating part of our life together in visual form has helped soften the blow of missing him. But lately I've come to the conclusion that I also need to write Murray's biography. I mean in prose. Doing justice to his life and ideas requires far more words that I can squeeze into speech balloons.

So I'm writing his biography, working title Murray Bookchin: A Life in History. I'm currently researching, amassing material, and writing drafts. As I work on it, I will continue posting cartoons but at a much slower rate. I will also post news about publications.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

Salud,
Janet

Janet,

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your cartoons about Murray. They are very inspirational and have created a great deal of excitement for me concerning the forth-coming biography.

Looking forward to more cartoons,
Peter

Yes, so nice to be reminded of these ultimate ideas, and the man who lived with them every day.

I've been searching for information about Murray's lectures at the Alternate U in New York City, around 1969. His lecture series was called (if memory serves) "Anarcho-Communism) and it had a profound impact on me.
Although my life took a different path as the Alternate U crashed & burned from infighting and saboteurs, I hope there will be more to come about that incredibly heady time for radicals in the USA.
Please feel free to visit my blog at "danceawayblues.blogspot.com" and make comments. I long to feel connected with like-minded people.
Peace and thank you!

Janet,

I'm currently writing a post-grad history thesis on Murray Bookchin and the history of his ideas and the impact they had on the American left in the 20th Century. My research is going well but if I could get in touch with you via email, that would be fantastic. Could you email me at r_mannering at hotmail dot com or leave a working email address on this site that would let me get in touch?

Thanks a lot
Robert.

Has there been any effort to archive his papers besides what's going on at Pitzer? I think a Murray Bookchin Archives and Social Justice Resource Center would be a wonderful place!!!
